February 26th, 2020 --------- Eri won the 2020 ASCAP Herb Alpert Young Jazz Composer Award!
Eri has selected as a recipient of the
2020 ASCAP Foundation Herb Alpert Young Jazz Composer Award.
This is her second time receiving the award! (2019 and 2020)
December 17th, 2019 --------- Eri won the ISJAC/USF Owen Prize!
The International Society of Jazz Arrangers and Composers (ISJAC) has announced the 2020 winner of the prestigious ISJAC/USF Owen Prize, recognizing an outstanding young jazz composer’s work; this year’s winner is Eri Chichibu. Her winning composition is entitled “The Sea - Seven Years Voyage” and will be performed by the resident professional jazz ensemble at the 2021 ISJAC Symposium at the University of Texas - Austin. Eri's composition " The Sea -Seven years Voyage- " was selected for The 2020 Young Composer Showcase at the Jazz Education Network 11th Annual Conference, held in New Orleans, LA, from January 7-10, 2020!
